General Overview
The MAELE programme is offered in a one-year full-time mode with 120 earned credits. The students are expected to complete the programme requirements within one academic year. Classes will be conducted mainly on the university campus.
The MA in English Language Education (MAELE) programme is designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career and have a special interest in working with learners of English as a foreign, second, or additional language.

Successful completion of the MA can also open the door to further study, this includes the opportunity to embark on your own professional doctorate or PhD. MA graduates may also move on to teaching positions in higher education, to leadership positions within an educational organisation, and/or have the opportunity to move from general English teaching to a more specialised area of academic, business or legal English.

Assessment format
Teaching, learning and assessment methods draw on the different backgrounds, experiences and knowledge of our students, and encourage critical reflection. The teaching style is highly participatory and engages students in practical teaching, workshop activities, group discussion, peer evaluation, presentations and research projects.
Engagement and Attendance
Students are defined as academically engaged if they are engaged regularly with timetabled teaching sessions, and course-related learning resources including those on the Learning Management System and complete assessments and submit these on time. Students must have a minimum 80 per cent attendance rate at all offline workshops and other scheduled face-to-face student lecturer meetings.

*Holders of a bachelor's degree in disciplines other than English may also be considered after a proper review of all documents by the Committee.
Language Requirements
Applicants must be able to satisfy the University of their competence in English.
The IELTS certificate with an overall score of 6.5 or above (minimum 6.0 in each component) or equivalent.
Our university also accepts Certificates obtained from Linguaskill of Cambridge Assessment English if the Cambridge English Scale score is 176 or above.
However, if you do not have an IELTS certificate or equivalent, you can take an internal exam by selecting the option on the application form.

Work experience is not a requirement for joining the MA in English Language Education. However, work experience is desirable and should be as broad as is reasonably practicable.
If you have a work experience in the following areas, you can apply for the scholarship:
To apply for the University Scholarship at CIU, submit your "Motivational Letter" by indicating your academic background, work experience, and other achievements.
The word limit for the Motivational Letter is a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 350 words.
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee for a Master of Arts in English Language Education (ELE) is set as the following:
For one academic year – 35,000,000 UZS.
The student can pay in two installments – 17,500,000 UZS per semester.
The discounts can be applied:
The student with a discount will pay 31,500,000 UZS if paid in full payment.
